2 – Pineapple for arthritis

Bromelain is found in pineapples, but not enough for the effective treatment of any disorders. Several studies suggest that bromelain could help reduce pain in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis.

One study indicated that a combination of bromelain, trypsin and rutosid worked as well as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which are frequently used pain relievers, for the reduction of osteoarthritis knee pain.[2]

What to do: To maximize the effects of the bromelain in pineapple, the fruit must be eaten on its own in between meals or its enzymes will be used up in digesting.
