7 – Flaxseed and cholesterol
Research has shown that consuming flaxseed daily can help to reduce bad cholesterol.[6]
In one study, women who included 50 grams of ground flaxseed daily for 4 weeks to their diet reduced their total cholesterol by 9 % and LDL cholesterol by 18 %.[7] Flaxseed also lowers inflammatory markers related to increased risk for heart disease.
