Although it looks like a tree, the banana grows on a plant that belongs to the orchid family. There are hundreds of varieties, and they all fall into two distinct groups, the sweet variety and the plantain that is used for cooking.
In some Latin American countries tamales are sometimes steamed and served in banana leaves.

The controversial chemical, expected to soon be designated a toxic agent by the federal government, is a mainstay of products consumers use every day — from water and baby bottles to liners in food and beverage cans to sealants used in dental fillings.

Bisphenol A, or BPA, allows manufacturers to make a rigid and translucent product known as polycarbonate plastic, often — but not always — identified by a triangle surrounding the number 7. In canned food and beverages, especially acidic vegetables and fruits, BPA-resin liners stop the contents from eroding the metal container.

According to the ancient yogic mystics the universe is a mysterious collection of energeticyoga forces that cannot be understood by the rational mind alone. According to this tradition “everything that is” is derived from the original source energy named Prana by the yogis. They taught that this life force can be understood in deep meditation only.

The yogic universe is governed by this energy, which caused the birth of planet earth and the evolution of the rich tapestry of life it supports. Hence the essence of yoga is found in nature, an essence that resonates in the fabric of every living cell on earth and in our bodies. Each cell in our bodies and minds, forms a microcosm of the universe without, of earth, the other planets orbiting the sun, the hemispheres and galaxies of outer space, and the universe itself.

The tomato originates from Central and South America, with Mexico being the first knowntomatoes cultivators. The conquistadors took seeds back to Spain, and soon became popular in other European countries. And it was for the same reason that they were not popular in the United States until 1820. Today China is the world’s largest producer, followed by the United States and Turkey.

Health Benefits.

A study conducted by the Royal Victoria Hospital and McGill University concluded that frequent tomato consumption might play a role in the prevention of prostate cancer, with evidence pointing to the greater effectiveness of cooked tomatoes.
